A logo for St. Matthew’s Mission Central Hub shows six hands of different colors forming a circle. To the left, an open road; to the right, stepping stones. Text: “Providing Pathways for Gifted Resources to Blessings.”.

Our Church serves as a Mission Central collection and distribution point (HUB) for the Washington East District and other Delmarva and DC area churches, nonprofits, and the community. We are one of 4 Points of Delivery for UMCOR Flood Buckets and Hygiene kits in the Baltimore Washington Conference.

Our HUB distributes supplies locally in response to poverty or disasters. Examples of some local organizations that we have provided supplies: schools, Crofton Christian Caring Council Baby Pantry, CHAMP House Recovery, House on the Hill – Sacred Heart Church, and Homes Not Borders.

Our HUB  supports those in need beyond our community by providing supplies to both Mission Central (Mechanicsburg, PA) and Orphan Grain Train. (Millersville, MD). Both provide supplies to impoverished, war torn or disaster areas in the US and worldwide. Mission Central has a Medical Program/Ministry which includes partnership with Project Cure.

Additionally, our HUB supports United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) by assembling and collecting UMCOR Kits (e.g, flood buckets and hygiene kits). These kits are used locally or sent to Mission Central that is the largest of seven warehouses within the UMCOR Disaster Relief Network.
