United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is the humanitarian arm of the United Methodist Church. UMOCR has been Relieving Human suffering for More than 80 years. UMCOR’s work reaches people in more than 80 countries, including the United States.
UMCOR provides humanitarian relief when war, conflict or natural disaster disrupts life to such an extent that communities cannot recover on their own. UMCOR responds quickly by working with local communities and organizations to help those in need and stays to help finish the needed work long after the headlines are gone. - Each March, St Matthew’s observes UMCOR Sunday.
- St Matthew’s Mission Central Outreach and DRT HUB supports UMCOR by
making, collecting and delivering UMCOR Kits and other needed items to
Mission Central. Mission Central partners with UMCOR on disaster relief, and is
the largest of seven warehouses within the UMCOR Disaster Relief Network. - UMCOR donations can be given by check to SMUMC or online via One Time
Gift by specifying UMCOR or UMCOR Disaster Relief. Donations will go to
Biggest Need. If you want to contribute to a specific cause, please go to
the UMCOR Gives website to donate directly to your preferred cause. Note:
