RETREAT IS COMPLETE! SO NOW WHAT?! – Towards the end of the church wide vision retreat it was clear that we needed more time together as a large group to plan next steps and organization moving forward. We invite you to join us on Sunday, April 9th following the second service for a potluck and meeting session. We will have the potluck from 12:15 – 1 p.m. and then meet as a large group and in our six ministry areas from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Even if you did not participate in the retreat we hope you will join us for the afternoon. The six ministry areas that came out of the focus areas were Leadership Development and Engagement, Worship and Spiritual Development, Multigenerational Involvement, Welcome and Connection, Mission, and Outreach. We hope you will join us for the afternoon and join one of these teams as we plan some concrete next steps for St. Matthew’s! Don’t forget to bring a dish to share!
LENTEN CLASS FOR ADULTS – “Roll Down, Justice” – While Chelsea being away and then the snow has delayed our start, we will meet this Tuesday, at7:00 p.m. in room 126 for our first week of Roll Down, Justice! Join us as we reflect on music written by Mark Miller and how we are called to follow
Micah 6:8 to do justice.
SOUP, SALAD, LENTEN SPIRITUAL PRACTICE AND SIMPLE PRAYER – We will begin with dinner from 6:00 – 6:45 p.m. Following dinner we will explore a different spiritual practice as a group from 6:45 – 7:30 p.m. and have Simple Prayer from 7:30 -8:00 p.m. Children are invited to join as many of the sessions will be interactive including movement, prayer through painting, music and reflection.
WEDNESDAY MID-DAY PRAYER THROUGH LENT – Wednesdays through Lent, join us in the Sanctuary for a short mid-day prayer time beginning at 12:15 p.m. This service will be simple but a great time to take a few minutes of quiet and to “center” in the middle of the week.
