CHILDREN, FAMILY AND YOUTH
YOUTH GROUP TONIGHT! – After lots of trips and special events, tonight we resume our regular schedule of 6:30 p.m. – 8:15 p.m. here at St. Matthew’s. Joanna and Ray will be leading us with games and a lesson as we begin to wrap up our year and prepare for summer!
PILGRIMAGE – Today is the deadline to turn in permission slips to attend our three day mission trip to DC to work with the Pilgrimage. The trip is June 14 – 17th. Please see Chelsea for extra forms if you forgot the one that was emailed.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL – June 3rd is fast approaching! Make sure to register online at www.jotform.com/cspyres/vbs2017, or pick up a registration form from Chelsea’s office. Dinner is included and there is no cost for evenings of fun from June 19-23rd. This is also a great time to invite a friend or neighbor to join us! If you would like to volunteer at any point in the week, please get in touch with Chelsea as we are still looking for a few more people to join the team.
A FOND FAREWELL – Please join us TODAY between the worship services (9:45 a.m.-10:45 a.m.) in Fellowship Hall, as we thank Sharon Heidenreich for her years of service to St. Matthew’s as our Office Administrator. The celebration will include light refreshments (including cake!) and a card for all to sign. Let’s join together in giving Sharon a loving send-off.
JOIN THE FUN AT PAINT NITE! – Join us for this fun day of creativity – an artist will instruct us in making a beautiful painting – no experience, skill or supplies are needed! The event is sponsored by the UMW and takes place on Saturday, June 10th from 9:30 a.m. until noon. Bring your family and friends – youth (ages 13 and older) are invited to participate. Tickets are $45, of which $15 will go to the UMW. Refreshments are included. Any youth that attends will be refunded $15, making it a net cost of $30 for them. (Note that you must check that you are 21 or older to get through the registration process.) Please contact Lorri Meadows at (301) 262-2592 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Registration deadline is May 27th.
PLEASE HELP A GUATEMALA CHILD – On May 28th, you can become a prayer partner and provide a donation to purchase a library book in honor of your child. Look for information in the Midweek Messenger and Circuit Rider. Please contact Marian Eisinger at email@example.com if you have any questions.
We will be honoring our graduating seniors at both services on Sunday, June 11th. All graduating seniors are invited to attend for a special recognition. Please submit names of graduates from high school, college and grad school to Shameka in the church office (301-262-1408) firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday, June 3rd.
BOWIEFEST IS ON THE WAY – Bowiefest is on Saturday, June 3rd. We will need volunteers from 8:30 a.m. to about 7 pm. Typically we try for 2 to 3 hour shifts with 2 to 3 people in the booth at all times. Please contact George Wood at (301) 262-5835 or email@example.com for more information and scheduling.
EMAIL ALERTS: It has come to our attention that not all of you are receiving the Midweek Messenger and Circuit Riders. While we originally thought that this was a problem limited to Verizon emails, we have found this to be incorrect. In fact, several email carriers have been affected. While we investigate and try to correct this issue, we ask that you please notify the church office to let them know if you have not been receiving the emails. In the meantime, if you would like to have the Circuit Rider mailed directly to you, please let the church office know. To contact the office, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
ELECTRONIC GIVING – If you would like to make today’s offering using our electronic giving service, please refer to theELECTRONIC GIVING CARD that is located in the pocket of the pew rack in front of you. This card provides instructions for the use of our On Line Giving and Giving by Text services. Both services can be used for a one time gift or recurring gifts. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR GIFT.
