YOUTH GROUP – Tonight’s youth group will be a little different than our typical Sunday night. Join us at our regular time of 6:30 – 8:15 p.m. as we have a time of individual worship through Lent prayer stations. This time will be a little quieter and reflective but will give us a chance to stop in the busyness of life and just enjoy some time with each other and God.
FAMILY BOWLING AFTERNOON – NEXT SUNDAY from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. at Crofton Bowling Lanes. Our St. Matthew’s families, especially those with children, are invited to join us for an afternoon of bowling! RSVP’s are needed by TODAY so Chelsea can make sure we have enough bowling lanes. The cost is $5/bowler, bumpers and assists for kids will be available! https://stmatthewsfamilybowling.eventbrite.com
- MATTHEW’S GOES TO THE MOVIES! TODAY is the day! Join a group of us at the Regal Bowie Stadium movie theater at 3:25 p.m. to watch “The Shack.” After the movie, come back to the church for light refreshments and to talk about the film.
THE “STATE FAIR” is coming soon!!! Singing and dancing rehearsals are underway. St. Matthew’s Musical Theatre Troupe is ready to entertain you again with their performance of “State Fair.” Performances will be on March 24, 26, 31 and April 1 and 2 in Fellowship Hall. Tickets are on sale NOW after each service in Fellowship Hall.
RECORDED LENT REFLECTIONS are available on the church web-site under the tab: Ministries/Call to Prayer Ministry recorded by members of the Morning Prayer Team. Each session is based on the work of Max Lucado, as written in his book and course titled “He Chose the Nails. What God did to Win Your Heart.” There are six sessions available as well as other recorded topics that are accessible 24/7.
LENTEN CLASS FOR ADULTS – “Roll Down, Justice” – THIS Tuesday, join Chelsea and others, as we begin our Lenten study of “Roll Down, Justice.” Through the gift of songs written by Mark Miller, join us as we ask some hard questions of what does it mean to seek justice in this Lenten season and in our everyday lives. Our time will begin together at 7:00 p.m. in Room 126.
SOUP, SALAD, LENTEN SPIRITUAL PRACTICE AND SIMPLE PRAYER – Through Lent we will gather for a full night of community. We will begin with dinner from 6:00 – 6:45 p.m. in Fellowship Hall sponsored by the UMW Circles. Following dinner we will explore a different spiritual practice as a group from6:45 – 7:30 p.m. and have Simple Prayer from 7:30 -8:00 p.m. Children are invited to join as many of the sessions will be interactive including movement, prayer through painting, music and reflection.
WEDNESDAY MID-DAY PRAYER THROUGH LENT – Would you like to get to Simple Prayer but evenings are difficult for you? Wednesdays through Lent, join us in the Sanctuary for a short mid-day prayer time beginning at 12:15 p.m. This service will be simple but a great time to take a few minutes of quiet and to “center” in the middle of the week.
REMINDER: The deadline for the April 2017 Circuit Rider will be THIS Wednesday, March 15, 2017.
