VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL begins Monday, June 19 – If you have registered you should have received an email from Chelsea with details for the week. If you have not received this email, please let Chelsea know, so that we can confirm your registration. Get ready for a week of super hero adventures, as we discover our strength in God!
TODAY IS THE LAST WEEK OF CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL for our children and youth until the fall. There will still be Preschool Prayschool and Faith for Me through the summer, but there will not be regular Sunday school. Any questions on the summer schedule, please contact Chelsea.
END OF YOUTH GROUP PARTY TONIGHT! – Come to BSR Pool in Bowie, for an evening of swimming, food, and celebration! Bring a side dish to share, but burgers, hotdogs, vegetarian options, and drinks will be provided. PLEASE NOTE: Glass containers of any type are not allowed in the pool. We will gather at 5pm, come ready to swim!
PILGRIMAGE MISSION TRIP – Pray! Pray! Pray! 10 of our youth and 4 adults will be in DC for a 3-day mission experience this Thursday – Saturday. Please keep our team in prayer as we partner in mission with existing organizations in DC through working with unhoused individuals, urban gardening, and local area food banks.
THIS Thursday, JUNE 15, is the deadline for articles for the DOUBLE EDITION (July and August) of the Circuit Rider. If you wish to draw attention to projects, special needs and educational opportunities planned for the fall months, this is the time to create descriptive articles concerning these events. Please limit submissions to 300 words or less. E-mail your articles firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks!
TODAY! – BOOKMARK MAKING FOR GUATEMALA – Fellowship Hall between worship services to make a bookmark or two for a child in Guatemala. All of the supplies will be set out and ready to go, come and create a small gift to go along with the books the kids will be receiving. This is a great way to participate in our trip to Guatemala even if you cannot attend.
PRAYER PARTNER ZIPLOCS FOR GUATEMALAN CHILDREN are due NO LATER than June 18. If you cannot make June 18th then please email Marian. A specially marked collection box will be in the narthex on Sundays. The Ziplocs may be dropped at the church office during the week.
SUITCASES NEED FOR GUATEMALA MISSION TRIP – If you have a medium to large size suitcase with wheels you would like to donate, please leave it in the coat room with a label Guatemala. If you have one you would like to loan, please contact Marian. Suitcases are needed by June 25th.
NEXT SUNDAY, JUNE 18 – HELP US SET UP FOR VBS! – It is time to transform St. Matthew’s into Hero Central! Join us after the 11 a.m. service as we begin decorating Fellowship Hall, the Narthex, the Sanctuary, and various classrooms upstairs. There will be some jobs that will need a ladder, but most will just require a willing servant’s heart and the ability to tape!
