CHILDREN & YOUTH
YOUTH GROUP TRAVELING – Keep the youth and adults traveling with them in prayer as we go to Ocean City, MD for a weekend of music, speakers, worship, and small group time. There will be over 3,000 young people and their leaders in Ocean City next weekend. Look forward to hearing about their time away later in January.
SAVE THE DATE – Saturday, January 20 is family movie night! From 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall, there will be kid-friendly dinner and a movie. Bring a blanket and your pillow as we stretch out in Fellowship Hall for this night of family fun.
SUNDAY SCHOOL resumes for all ages on January 7! Come from 9:45-10:45 a.m. and try a class out.
VEHICLE WANTED – The Housing Ministry is in need of a vehicle. Preferably a used, running pick-up truck to help one of our clients make the transition to independence in the new year. Full tax credit will be issued. If you have a vehicle to donate, please contact Gary Allen at (301) 717-1579.
SMALL GROUP MEETING – The Accountability Group will be meeting on Wednesday, January 3 from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. in room 125. All are welcome to join as we are just getting started with regular meetings. This time we will check in spiritually and emotionally since we last met. This group will meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month. Feel free to stop by and check it out.
SMALL GROUP TRIP – The History and Travel Group will meet at St. Matthew’s on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. and then go to Savage – a mill town. We will be carpooling. Please sign up for this trip in the notebook that can be found in the narthex. Come and explore some local history. Then join us for lunch. All are welcome.
GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP – St. Matthew’s will offer a grief support “class” on Tuesday evenings beginning January 23 and will run until March 13. If you find yourself wondering how to deal with the loss of a loved one, even a pet, consider joining Isaac for a weekly opportunity to share, learn, and be supported in a confidential setting.
THE ST. MATTHEW’S STAFF would like to express our sincere appreciation to the congregation for your many good wishes, your prayers, and your gifts of support throughout the year. We wish you a Happy and Prosperous New Year!
