YOUTH GROUP TONIGHT – Do you love to sing? Come join the youth tonight as we sing Christmas carols to many of our members who are homebound this Christmas season. Meet in the church parking lot at 5:00 p.m., and we will wrap up around 8:00 p.m. Join us for the whole evening or just a stop or two!
STORY-TIME WITH CHELSEA – On Tuesday, December 19 from 12:00 p.m. -1:00 p.m., bring your lunch and join Chelsea for Story-time with our EEC friends in Fellowship Hall. Bring your favorite Christmas story as we have a picnic lunch and read together.
CHRISTMAS POTLUCK IS TODAY – Everyone is invited to our Christmas Church-Wide Potluck after the 11:00 a.m. service. There will be ham and drinks provided by our Christian Formation team. Bring a dish to share and get ready to share a funny Christmas story or two as we gather around the table for food and fellowship.
ST. MATTHEW’S 2017 CHRISTMAS CARD PROGRAM – There is still time to get your name in the 2017 Christmas card. Don’t forget your donations will go toward scholarships for two Bowie High School students. Deadline for donations is TODAY.

2018 READER/LITURGIST SIGN-UP – Are you interested in becoming a reader/liturgist for the Sunday services? Make this your New Year’s resolution to sign up! We are now getting readers in a different way. We are assembling a list of interested folks and will develop a schedule, similar to how the ushers are scheduled. If you would like to join this group, please contact Jane Thessin (firstname.lastname@example.org) to have your name added to the list.
DECEMBER BOOK CLUB will meet on Tuesday, December 19 at 7:00 p.m. in room 125. The book is The Christmas Cantata by Mark Schweizer, subtitled “A St. Germain Christmas Entertainment”.
SMALL GROUP TRIP – The History and Travel Group will meet at St. Matthew’s on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. and then go to Savage – a mill town. We will be carpooling. Please sign up for this trip in the notebook that can be found in the narthex. Come and explore some local history. Then join us for lunch. All are welcome.
A FINANCIAL REMINDER: As you make your year-end contributions, please remember that checks must be received at the church by December 28, 2017. If received after that date, they will be credited in 2018 (regardless of the date on them).
THE CHURCH OFFICE will be open for limited periods of time the week of December 26 – January 2. Please call ahead to make sure that someone will be in the office. The church office will be closed on the following dates: December 22, December 25, and January 1. Normal Office Hours will resume on Tuesday, January 2 beginning at 9:00 a.m.

7:00 p.m. – Blue Christmas Worship Service in Sanctuary
Sunday, December 24, 2017 – Christmas Eve
10:00 a.m. – One service – No Sunday School Classes
**Preschool Prayschool and Nursery Available
5:00 p.m. – Family Service which will include children presenting characters of the nativity as the story is told and carols are sung.
8:00 p.m. – Traditional Candlelight service with Communion.
Sunday, December 31, 2017 – New Year’s Eve
10:00 a.m. – One Service Lessons and Carols – No Sunday School Classes
7:00 – 8:00 p.m. – Watch Night Service – The Sanctuary will be open with music, scripture, hymns and prayers folded into a simple, reflective service. Holy Communion will be offered at the altar approximately every 15 minutes. Feel free to drop in for 15 minutes or stay for the whole hour.
