Come ready to learn and be in fellowship with other church family members.
NURSERY VOLUNTEER NEEDED – This fall we are going to be offering a class Faith for Me 1, 2, 3 for our 1st – 3rd graders to learn the same stories that are being taught in worship but on their age level, and to prepare them for the importance in participating in worship once they get to 4th grade. With this new class being offered we need a few weeks a month in the nursery covered. If you are able to volunteer for one or two weeks a month in the nursery, talk to Chelsea or email email@example.com.
Flood Relief Donations – Ellicott City, Maryland and vast sections of Louisiana have been the sites of unprecedented flooding in the past several weeks. Information received from the Baltimore-Washington Conference indicates that monetary donations are the best way to help. If you would like to donate to either or both areas, make your check payable to St. Matthew’s UMC and enter Ellicott City or Louisiana on the Memo line. Place your check in the offering plate, drop it off in the church office or mail it to the church. If you have any questions you may firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
Church Picnic TODAY – Come share a meal with your church family outdoors at 12:00 p.m. This year we will be having our meal in front of St. Matthew’s facing Rt. 450! Feel free to bring your food to the church kitchen before the 10:00 a.m. Service on the Green, or after the 7:30 service. The church will be providing hamburgers, hotdogs and beverages.
Women’s Programs Kick Off on September 10 – Events for women will kick off on Saturday, September 10, with a Fellowship Tea in Fellowship Hall from2:00 – 4:00 p.m. The tea is open to all women of St. Matthew’s as well as their female friends and family members. This will be a lovely opportunity to escape from our busy schedules and savor traditional tea fare and conversations with other women. For more information, please contact Lisa Klein.
College Connection – We are collecting addresses for our college students. Our UMW and other groups in the church do a wonderful job keeping our college students connected with St. Matthew’s but we can’t do it without a physical mailing address! Parents of college students, please send their address to Laura Ross firstname.lastname@example.org or Sharon Heidenreich in the church office at email@example.com.
