Please Wear Your Name Tag! With the blending of our 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. congregations at the new summer 10:00 a.m. service, it is especially important to wear your name tag to worship services. In addition, we have several new staff members coming on board and it will help them get to know you. It may be assumed that someone without a name tag is a visitor to St. Matthew’s, so please greet them warmly!
Bowie Interfaith Food Pantry needs your help! – This is the time of the year when donations are low; therefore, your help is needed in replenishing the shelves with all non-perishable foods. Donations needed are canned items such as fruit, meats and soups. They could also use rice, pasta sides, peanut butter, jelly and desserts. Place the items in the shopping cart located in the coat room. Thank you for your continual support!
We received the following thank you from Sarah Sava, one of our Bowie High School Scholarship Recipients:
Dear St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church
Thank you very much for the $1,000 scholarship. That was very generous of your church members, and I appreciate your kindness and thoughtfulness. I promise to use the scholarship for good to further my education and make a difference in the world for others. I will be attending Towson University in the fall to study neonatal nursing. I would also like to thank you for opening up your church to me. Although I belong to a different parish, it was a delightful experience, and I enjoyed the sermon very much. Thank you all for all of your support, love and prayers. God bless each and every one of you.
Love, Sarah Sava
