The funeral service for Kay League will be held at St. Matthew’s on Saturday, February 20 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be at Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Road, Bowie, on Friday, February 19, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Internment will follow immediately after the funeral service on Saturday at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, 3401 Bladensburg Road, Brentwood, MD. All are invited to greet the family and gather for conversation and refreshments at 1:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall after the Internment.
Church Wide Lenten Study: IMPORTANT- REGISTER BY WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 10, for “Six Ways We Encounter God” begins Sunday, February 14 at 9:45 a.m. or Wednesday, February 17 at 7:30 p.m. When we live, worship, or pray, do we really encounter God? In this study, author Tom Berlin introduces us to six basic characteristics of God, linking each to the characteristics we should develop in response. Led by Pastor Daniel and team. Participant workbooks ($7). E-books are available at Cokesbury.com. Children and Families Make Prayer Beads: Children in Grades K-5 and their families are invited to make age appropriate prayer beads for Protestants as a tool for connecting with God. We will also learn and practice how to use them. This workshop will be on February 28 at 12:30 in Fellowship Hall. Light snack lunch will be served by Children and Families Council. All are welcome.
Leadership Days: A number of great training opportunities for local church leaders are being offered at the upcoming regional Leadership Days. The Southern Region will hold its training Feb. 20 (8:30-12:30 Odenton) and a session with missional speaker Reggie McNeal on March 5 (9A-4P). The Western Region’s Leadership Days will be held Feb. 27; The Washington Region’s, “Dare to Lead,” event and the Baltimore Region’s, “Therefore Go,” session are March 5.
