November is St. Matthew’s THANK YOU month! Each week we will highlight a different group of people in our community who serve us. On November 1, we will recognize the “Healers”—anyone involved in the medical profession. Please pick up a postcard on your way out to send to any Healers you want to recognize.
Bowie’s Mayor, Fred Robinson and Councilman, Dennis Brady, join the UMM NEXT Sunday, November 1 at 1:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall to discuss issues important to the future of the city. Join us to meet and speak with the Mayor and Councilman. All are welcome to attend.
UMW Annual Craft Show: Join us for the United Methodist Women’s annual craft show on Saturday, November 7, from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Home-baked goods (nothing store bought, please) are requested from the congregation at large. Please leave them in the kitchen (marked “UMW”) on Friday, November 6, for pricing. When appropriate, please note whether items contain nuts. Come enjoy shopping with all our wonderful crafters! Communion Visitations to Resume – Beginning on November 1, we would like to resume the practice of having communion taken to those people who cannot attend services that day. Training for those wishing to participate in this ministry will take place on Saturday, October 31, at 10:00 a.m. in the Parlor (Room 102). Session will run about 30 minutes. Contact Isaac Borocz by phone or e-mail if you are interested in being part of this new ministry.

In this DVD study, Adam Hamilton helps you witness the life of Jesus from Mary’s unique perspective, starting at the very end and traveling back in time to the very beginning—the night of Christ’s birth. Christmas Greenery Sale – Boy Scout Troop 1249 will be selling beautiful, fragrant, evergreen wreaths, swags, garland and centerpieces. Orders will be taken after each service on Sunday November 1 and November 8. The greenery will be handmade to order and available for pick up on December 6 after both services.
