Thanksgiving Month! Defenders are being honored today—with flags and ceremony. Honor these defenders at a reception in Fellowship Hall after each service. Next Sunday, the 15th, our community’s First Responders will be the ones that we will acknowledge. Please take a postcard on your way out to invite someone to join us to be acknowledged or to thank those who have been on the scene to help us first.
REMINDER: Combined December/January Circuit Rider – The FIRM deadline for this double issue will be NEXT Sunday, November 15. Please submit articles to George Huffman at email@example.com.
St. Matthew’s supports the Bowie Food Pantry in preparing food baskets for Thanksgiving and needs your help. Items needed are: cans/jars gravy, canned yams/sweet potatoes, mini-marshmallows, cream of mushroom soup, instant mashed potatoes, boxed stuffing mix, canned corn, hot chocolate and apple cider packets, snack items and holiday paper products. Please place all items in the shopping cart in the coatroom.
Christmas Stocking Project – It’s time to fill a Christmas bag with gifts for children of inmates at the Prince George’s County Correctional Facility in Upper Marlboro. Look for the stocking tags in the narthex. Pick up a tag, plastic bag and instructions. Bags should be returned to the church NO LATER than Sunday, December 6. For more information contact Debra.
Christmas Greenery Sale – Boy Scout Troop 1249 will be selling beautiful, fragrant, evergreen wreaths, swags, garland and centerpieces. Orders will be taken after each service TODAY. The greenery will be handmade to order and available for pick up on December 6 after both services. Payment is due when the order is placed. Call Matthew McGowan for more information.
