Thanksgiving Month! Those who have been in the role of teaching and guiding us
in all stages of our lives are being honored today, our Educators. Please join us in Fellowship Hall after each service to thank these people.
Thanksgiving Eve Service – The Interfaith Council of Suburban Maryland will sponsor a Thanksgiving Eve service THISWednesday, November 25, 7:30 p.m. at St. Matthew’s. This year’s theme is Toward a More Perfect Union. An offering will be taken for the Bowie Interfaith Food Pantry. Light refreshments will be held in Fellowship Hall after the service.
More Than Just Music – Next Sunday, November 29, 9:45 a.m., room 124. Come and learn about and hear Bach’s Cantata 61 Nun komm der Heiden Heiland (Savior of the Nations Come). No need to know anything about Bach, German or music. Join Isaac for an exploration of one of the great church works for choir, soloists and orchestra.

Christmas Stocking Project – There are still plenty of tags left. Pick up a tag, plastic bag and instructions. Bags should be returned to the church NO LATER

The Altar Guild is offering poinsettias for purchase to beautify our Sanctuary this Christmas. Dedications can be made in honor or memory of a loved one or special person. Red or white poinsettias can be ordered at $12 each.
Please use the special poinsettia envelopes and information form found in the alcove in the Narthex. Be sure to include the color of plant, your dedication, and your name and enclose cash or check payable to St. Matthew’s UMC. Place your poinsettia envelope in the collection plate or drop it off at the church office. The deadline for ordering will be Wednesday, December 9. 2016 Mission trip to Guatemala – Marian Eisinger will be co-leading a mission team to the Lake Atitlan region of Guatemala fromJune 11-18, 2016, and is inviting you to join her. The estimated cost is $1,600. She would like to have a team identified by January 15, 2016, so that they can work on logistics and select what ministries they will focus on while in Guatemala.
