In Our Journey to Haiti

God’s Service to Others

Where:

Miracia Hospital in Merger, Haiti.

When:

2012 January 4-11 (alternate or follow on dates 11-18).

Why:

At Miracia Hospital, founded by the non-profit Institute of Grace, basic construction has almost been completed. We will continue electrical and other finishing work, but also focus on operational aspects. Miracia is more than just a hospital:

There is space for a clinic and dental practice.
Until a school is built, it is also home to an accredited K-5 program and hosts other educational opportunities as well.
On this trip we will also be training local Haitians in self-sustaining skills.

What:

This trip’s agenda will be set over the next few months as funding becomes established and the skills and interests of our VIM team are determined. However, contributions are critical to make this possible. We encourage both individual and group contributions to this project, for both general costs and specific projects. Please pass this information on to your church or other organization. Projects in construction, medical, and education are being considered.

Who:

If you choose to be a part of this team…

You will find the Haitians to be a resilient people with their faith unshaken by recent history. The signs of the January 2010 earthquake even now are still everywhere, but by the grace of God, the Miracia hospital structure itself suffered only minor damage.

Be prepared to find yourself supported and uplifted by your fellow volunteers, a true community of faith doing the work that Christ intended.
