Disaster Response Outreach HUB

St. Matthew’s Disaster Response/Outreach HUB

On February 15, 2010 St. Matthew’s entered into a “Covenant Agreement” with Mission Central in Mechanicsburg PA to become the 15th HUB in their network to support the needs of UMCOR and other local, national, and international “Outreach Ministries”.

What is Mission Central? Established in 2001 as a shared vision as stated in Matthew 25:40.  It’s “Where visions of ministry become missions of hope” and, “Where promises of faith are kept in projects of service.”

H Expand the HEART and HOPE of Mission Central to embrace more volunteers and enable more mission work to be accomplished.
U UNIFORM with Mission Central’s three goals of: Mission Education, Mission Outreach, and Disaster Response; and a signed covenant agreement between Mission Central and the HUB, YET UNIQUE operation of each HUB within its own parameters of the facility, community, and resources.
B The BIRTH of more opportunities to be involved in ecumenical mission work, be a ready resource in disaster response, increase the production of UMCOR kits, and involve more volunteers of all ages.
