United Methodist Youth Fellowship

Youth at our annual retreat preparing for Capture the Flag

United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) This fellowship group meets in two section on Sunday evenings: a Middle School UMYF for grades 6 – 8, and a Senior High UMYF for grades 9 – 12. Our youth elect their own Youth Council, discuss contemporary issues from a Christian standpoint, plan seasonal retreats, hold church lock-ins and occasional parties, serve the larger congregation in a variety of ways and conduct local and special summer service projects.

Both UMYF groups meet on Sunday evenings from 6:30pm to 8:15pm.  We begin our time together with a short worship service, then break into our respective age groups for that evening’s activities.  All middle school and high school youth are invited to join us for a time of fellowship and fun!

Our high schoolers spend a week each summer with the Appalachia Service Project, a Christian home-repair ministry that encourages relationship building and allows our youth the opportunity to serve those in rural Appalachia by making their homes warmer, safer, and drier.
