Council On Ministries

The initial meeting of the Council on Ministries (COM) took place, Wednesday evening October 6, 2010. Seventy members of St. Matthew’s came together for fellowship, food, worship, learning, and participation.
The evening began with a potluck meal – delicious and abundant – and dinner table conversation about COM. Mary McClurg – newly named Director of COM was the emcee for the evening. Long-term St. Matthew’s members could remember COM when it was part of the St. Matthew’s organization years ago. The meeting adjourned to the sanctuary for worship led by Reverend Ginger Gaines-Cirelli. See the Order of Worship. Reverend Ginger and Mary McClurg led discussion and answered questions about COM. The foundation of COM is the 3 C’s – Communication, Coordination, Clarity. COM provides a way for church leaders and all members to come together to learn of and coordinate with the efforts of other church groups.
