Ladies' Cruise on the Bay - June
2009
On
Sunday, June 28, the women at St. Matthew’s welcomed summer with a
boat cruise from Chesapeake Beach, Maryland across the Chesapeake
Bay to Tilghman Island. The “Bounty Hunter” provided safe passage
for the 4-hour tour (no stormy ride to Gilligan’s Island on this
trip!).
About an hour after leaving shore, the boat passed under the
Tilghman Island drawbridge and rounded the island to dock at
Harrison’s Chesapeake House restaurant. A delicious buffet was
waiting and the appetites that were whetted by the fresh sea air
were more than satisfied.
After many women checked out the nearby gift shop, Captain Glenn put
the “Bounty Hunter” into high gear against the wind and got the
group back to Chesapeake Beach in good time.
There was great fellowship among the women and this was surely the
first of a series of more “Ladies Only” outings to come.
