Volunteers in Mission
Mission To Juarez, Mexico - May 2008
The VIM mission trip to Juarez, Mexico,
on May 11-16, 2008 was made by the following people: Roy Hakes (Team
Leader), Rev. Galen Menne, Jody Kelley Rudd, Bill Willoughby,
Melissa Neace, Bob Fuller, Karen Hastings, Joe Livermore, Gerri
Dayes, Mike Elliott.
The team arrived in El Paso and was transported across the border to
the worksite in Anapras, Mexico, a small area outside of Juarez,
where they would build a house for the Fuentes family. Though it was
hard work, the team completed their mission in four days. The end
result was not only a house, but the smiles and joy of a family who
now have a place of their own to live.
Many special thanks to Mike Elliott and the congregation of
Community Methodist Church of Crofton for their contributions toward
helping this family’s dream come true. Thanks also to Mary Brock who
was unable to make the trip as planned and donated her fare to the
VIM mission fund.
