Welcome to St. Matthew's United Methodist Church! We are a group of people who have come together to celebrate God's presence in our midst. We think about our faith and develop new ways of making it relevant to our lives. We create ways to make the love of Jesus Christ visible. This is your invitation to be a part of that mission.

St. Matthew's will constantly challenge you to redefine yourself. Growth implies change and movement toward the person you are yet to be. Our garden is filled with seeds from nearly every denomination and background. Our joy is found in our growing together and finding peace in the spirit that is present here. All are welcome!

Membership is open to those who wish to join with other Christians in the worship of God, to be a part of a supportive and ministering fellowship, and to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

Statement of Purpose

The purpose of St. Matthew's United Methodist Church is to be the living body of Jesus Christ in our community and our world and to proclaim Him as our personal savior.

Our History

The United Methodist Church appointed the first pastor in June of 1963. Charter membership was closed in February 1964 with 103 members. Ground was broken for our church building on July 5, 1964 and the facility was occupied on September 5, 1965. The sanctuary was added and consecrated in September 1973. By that time, membership had increased to 1,077. As our needs grew, an educational wing was built in 1984. The three-story Wesley Wing classroom addition was completed in 2002.
