Green Church Environmental Stewardship

Release Date: Jan. 10, 2012
Green Church: Environmental Stewardship

St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church of Bowie is starting Green Church, which is an exploration of why and how to care for the world God created, Sunday, Jan. 22, in the church’s Fellowship Hall at 9:45 a.m and a make-up session on Jan. 23 at 7:00 p.m. in room 126 for those who cannot attend on Sunday.

Green Church will only last five sessions and you don’t have to be a church member to attend.
In announcing the Green Church program, the church’s Stewardship chair remarked that, “Going green is all the rage these days—from hybrid cars to organic foods.  But what does it really mean for the person of faith?  As it turns out, attending to the health of the planet is a core biblical value. “
The study will start with an evaluation of current environmental concerns and the current solutions as well as discovering new ways to make a difference in terms of God’s Word.
The church is located at 14900 Annapolis Road.  For further information, contact the church office at (301) 262-1408.
