Bowie CROP Walk
October 2010
The beautiful fall day and scenic garden setting was the perfect backdrop for the community spirit that was present at the 2010 Bowie CROP Hunger Walk which was held on October 10th. Over 125 walkers representing nine places of worship gathered together for the purpose of fighting hunger in our community and around the world.
Our efforts raised $12,426 and almost two grocery carts full of canned goods which were hand delivered by the walkers as they passed by the Bowie Interfaith Food Pantry. The Food Pantry was chosen to be the recipient of 25% of the total donations. The remainder of the donations will be used to fight hunger in the U.S. and around the world through Church World Services. Thank you to everyone who participated this year by walking, volunteering or sponsoring a walker.
