On Sunday, August 22, we prepared our congregation to return “Back to School” through a Blessing of the Backpacks at both services and a Back to School party for Family Ministry after the 11:00 service. Everyone who went back to school – students in preschool through grad school, teachers, and anyone else – had a prayer said over them and then received a guardian angel to keep in their school bags. At our Back to School party, we decorated folders and lunch bags for the first day of school, and had a scavenger hunt for fun school supplies.
